Theism, Atheism, = totally fine with me. Although, because I am a Christian, when you tell me you’re an Atheist, I sometimes do want to slap a Bible in your hand and preach to you—no more than an Atheist would like to slap a Bible out my hand, and preach to me. lol But I fight these Bible-thumping urges and I only ask that everyone else be mindful and respectful of their beliefs, as well as mine.
When it comes to a belief (or lack thereof) in a higher power, views on personal religion vs. organized religion, blah blah blah quasi-religious atheism, I respect every view. However, one religious outlook that I seemingly can’t respect is agnosticism.
I’m sorry, I just can’t.
To me, agnosticism is just being a pussy. I liken it to that one guy who claims he’s a huge sports fanbut whenever you gather to watch the game, he’s the only one not wearing a jersey, and when asked his favorite team, he nonchalantly gives some pussified answer like, “oh, I don’t have a favorite team, I just like to watch the game.” In the contexts of religion, agnostics are that guy.
It’s not even about “picking a side” or whatever. It’s just about having the balls to believe in something, anything, or nothing. That’s why I can’t respect it, agnostics has no balls.
To quote Richard Dawkins: agnosticism is just “fence-sitting, intellectual cowardice.”
